Today, all educational institutions need to be listening to what their faculty are telling them. They need to understand who their faculty are and listen to their needs. Too often, higher education is solely focused on the student and the donor. While this is necessary, it's hurting recruitment and retention of the best faculty members.

You must ask yourself: what does your faculty need? How are you being inclusive of all communities, when it comes to your faculty? Are you meeting them where they live? Are you creating content that speaks to them?

If you aren't doing anything of these things, then you are losing touch on the most important resource in your university.
